The singer whose real name was Choi Jin-ri, was found by her manager at her home in Seongnam, south of the capital, Seoul at around 3.20pm local time 7.20am (Oct. 14).
Korean police suspect that the singer may have committed suicide.
Her death comes just a month after Sulli suspended her music career while struggling with social media abuse for showing her breasts online.
Seoul police in a statement said that her manager had tried to call round to the 25-year-old’s house last night but received no response. They added that the K-pop star was battling severe depression and had spoken out against cyber-bullying in the past.
In 2016, Sulli was first involved in a scandal after showing her nipples online and this caused an uproar in the traditionally conservative South Korea. The ‘no bra’ scandal later resurfaced last month when her breasts were shown accidentally during a live Instagram stream.
